Hi there, and welcome to party favors: a study in falling in love with life. I’m so happy we’ve found one another!
Party favors is a project that has been living deep within my soul for some time now - through the pandemic and into my college graduation, and now coloring my unceremonious induction into the cult of the twenty-somethings. It is a project I have done only with myself, a not-so-well-kept secret between me and my notes app (and let’s be honest here, my instagram captions as well) that has resulted in two overwhelming facts:
That I am allowed to love my life.
That I am here to tell stories.
And so, I welcome you in to a very public promise to myself. A promise to search for the silver lining, to find the authentic parts of myself, and to invite you all in for a cup of tea, a warm fire, some soft music, and a good conversation. This is the place where long-windedness is welcome and questions about the universe are encouraged. I think too often, we put parameters on ourselves that something must be. It must be inspiring or beautiful or intense or revolutionary. It is a standard that up until very recently, I have held myself to. But here, in this warm living room in my little corner of the internet, is where things just are.
So, welcome. Hang up your coat and stay a while.
And when you’ve had your fill, I hope you’ll take some of my words with you as a party favor on the way out.
